Structural Engineer/Designer

Job Summary: Our office in Toronto is looking for a Structural Engineer or Designer to assist with growing the office, designing buildings and providing technical expertise to our structural projects in areas such as Life Sciences, Tech, Civic, Education, Mixed-use, and Healthcare.

Responsibilities:

Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings Design
Experience with a variety of materials in particular structural steel design
Plan and coordinate projects with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical consultants and attend coordination meetings
Collaborate with engineers and drafting colleagues to assemble tender documents and/or reports
Respond to Client’s request for proposals
Design and detailing of structures including calculations and computer modeling, for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures
Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
Registered Professional Engineer with PEO would be an asset
You have min 3 to 5 years of structural engineering experience (required)
Experience with lateral models an asset
You have experience in designing steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures for buildings with ability to use design software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, RAM STEEL and SAFE.
Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment that requires multi-tasking
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Comfortable with working at heights and confined spaces at times.

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Travel: Up to 10%

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected base salary range for this role is$75,000 to 95,000 CAD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
