POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the
Childcare Manager, the Infant Toddler Early Childhood Educator supports and
strengthens our infant and toddler child care program, which serves a group of
up to 12 children, by creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for
infants and toddlers. The Infant Toddler Early Childhood Educator
promotes physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development by designing
and implementing age-appropriate activities and providing individualized care
to meet the unique needs of each child. In collaboration with parents and
caregivers, they ensure consistent care and support. Additionally, the Infant Toddler Early Childhood Educator maintains a safe and
clean environment, observes and documents children's progress, and communicates
effectively with families and team members to foster a positive and inclusive
learning community for young children.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate inclusive,
developmentally appropriate programs and activities that support children’s
learning, growth, and well-being
- Foster a safe, engaging, and nurturing
environment that supports the diverse developmental, emotional, cultural, and
social needs of children and families
- Build positive, responsive relationships with
children, families, caregivers, and team members to support a collaborative and
inclusive childcare experience
- Support children’s ongoing development
through intentional guidance, observation, and individualized approaches that
encourage participation, confidence, and success
- Model positive caregiving practices, child
guidance strategies, and learning opportunities for families and caregivers
- Maintain consistent communication with
families regarding children’s experiences, progress, and developmental
milestones using a variety of communication methods
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of
all children in accordance with licensing requirements, organizational
policies, and best practices in early childhood education
- Support the delivery of inclusive programming
that reflects cultural awareness, diversity, belonging, and respect for
differing family values and perspectives
- Serve
nutritious food and snacks in accordance with Food Safe standards and
applicable health guidelines
- Maintain accurate documentation, incident
reporting, and daily records as required
- Adhere to all applicable BC Child Care
Licensing Regulations, school policies, and organizational procedures
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and
professional team environment while participating in ongoing learning and
program development
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and
overall readiness of the childcare environment
- Escalate concerns related to child
safety, well-being, behaviour, or program operations to the Childcare
Manager in a timely and professional manner
QUALIFICATIONS:
- ECE certificate with IT specialization
- Valid ECE ITE BC License to Practice
- 2 years of experience as and ECE - IT
- Previous experience working with children, families and working within childcare settings
- Valid First Aid certificate, as outlined by Child Care Regulations (to be renewed upon expiry)
- Valid FoodSafe certificate
- Minimum of 40 professional development hours every 5 years as outlined by license to practice standards

- Builds safe respectful and trusting relationships with children, families and team members
