Key Responsibilities

  • Install, align, dismantle, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and production equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on conveyors, pumps, mixers, grinders, slicers, packaging equipment, and other food processing systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Conduct equipment inspections to identify wear, defects, and opportunities for improved performance.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment alongside electricians and automation technicians.
  • Safely operate welding, cutting, hydraulic, lifting, hoisting, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Complete maintenance work orders and documentation using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and equipment reliability projects.
  • Follow all GMP, food safety, lockout/tagout, and health & safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with production, quality, sanitation, maintenance teams, and external contractors.

Qualifications

  • Valid 433A Industrial Millwright Licence.
  • Experience maintaining equipment in a manufacturing, food processing, packaging, or automated production environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial production equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.
  • Knowledge of GMP, food safety, lockout/tagout, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Experience using welding, cutting, hoisting, lifting, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Continuous improvement and root cause analysis experience is considered an asset.
  • Food manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, overtime, and occasional on-call support as required.
