Job Description:Under the direction of the Manager, Digital Health, The Clinical Informatics Nurse Specialist leads the integration of information technologies & clinical change initiatives that enhance evidence based clinical practices, access to patient/client information & clinical documentation via Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems in collaboration with clinical leaders, physicians & staff. The role works to increase the effectiveness of an EPR system & provide clinical subject matter expertise throughout the system life cycle, translate clinical requirements, lead teams, contribute to project planning, & implement schedules. As the liaison between clinical areas & IT, the role accurately & promptly analyzes, prioritizes & translates user needs to clinical information systems. This includes facilitating communication with end users, identifying gaps between clinical business processes & systems & facilitates the analysis, design, building & maintenance of clinical content within systems.

Experience

  • 3 years Acute clinical
  • 2 years as lead for EPR implementation in a health care setting
  • Experience in project management/ system administration

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
