POSITION SUMMARY
The Market Development Manager is responsible for working with distributors and food service & industrial accounts in assigned territories to develop sales to meet assigned targets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage assigned territory. Evaluate internal and external sales performance to ensure customer satisfaction and reach sales target. Develop specific sales plans to achieve sales target and increase the market share of Lee Kum Kee in assigned territory.
- Execute and monitor promotional activities within the A&P budget. Work with retail, food services and industrial key accounts to promote the sale & usage of LKK products.
- Seek business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating the position in the industry including supermarkets, distributors, wholesalers, and restaurants.
- Create new business relationships and manage existing accounts. Build relationships with restaurants, suppliers, wholesalers, supermarkets, and other referral sources.
- Introduce and increase the number of Lee Kum Kee SKUs in restaurants and provide support to source Lee Kum Kee products.
- Develop sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines. Work closely with assigned channels/customers to achieve sales targets. This will include product education, research, competitive analysis, product penetration, development and execution of advertisement and promotional programs, and various plans and reports.
- Set up and control approved budgets for sales promotion plan.
- Prepare quality plans, budgets, presentations and reports as required.
- Maintain knowledge of new and existing products and industry trends so that we can provide customers with recommendations, keeping LKK’s and customers best interest in mind, regarding strategies to grow their foodservice sales, whether through the use of LKK’s products or through operational guidance. Know the brand and be able to over deliver on needs.
- Operative to solve customer challenges, from new product set up to on-time deliveries.
- Collaborative, experience building relationships and working with colleagues across levels and functions, including those working remotely.
- Review market analyses to determine customer needs.
- Execute various sales and marketing projects, including management and administrative duties.
- Initiate and execute strong monthly and quarterly objectives and plans for each state to drive new sales.
- Develop, plan, and execute sales initiatives that achieve delivery of planned volume, revenue, and profit objectives. Work cross functionally to develop annual plans and strategies.
- Deliver sales presentations to key accounts to maintain relationships and negotiate and close deals.
- Evaluate new market segments to develop sales strategies and market plans.
- Responsible for product and service development to meet market needs.
- Monitor accounts receivable and sales transactions.
- Monitor and evaluate competitor activity and products.
- Handle expired and damage products.
- Prepare quality plans, budgets, presentations and reports as required.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
The individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability needed to perform the position functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline from an accredited university/college
- 5+ years of experience in fast-moving consumer goods.
- Experience in calling on chain accounts and foodservice distributors are required.
- The individual must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insured. Position requires travel by automobile in the assigned territory.
- Must be organized, dependable, punctual, professional, and ethical with an ability to multi-task and prioritize accordingly to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently in cross-functional teams to achieve established goals.
- Fluent in English and Chinese (Written and Verbal)
- The individual must possess excellent communication and presentational skills both written and verbal and a proven ability to work independently in cross-functional teams to achieve established goals.
- The individual will conduct presentations in large and small group settings.
