Role overview

Sankalp Restaurant is looking for an experienced Tandoor Cook to join our growing kitchen team. If you have experience preparing authentic Indian tandoor dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment and are passionate about quality food, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook tandoori appetizers, kebabs, tikka, naan, roti, kulcha and other tandoor specialties.
  • Operate and maintain a traditional tandoor oven safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare marinades, dough, and mise en place before service.
  • Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Monitor food inventory and minimize wastage.
  • Follow Health Canada food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Keep the kitchen clean and organized.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team during busy service hours.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of commercial tandoor cooking experience.
  • Experience with naan, roti, kebabs, tikka, and Indian breads.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume restaurant.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
