Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Systems Content & Integration (SCI), the SCI Clinical Content Pharmacist provides provincial clinical leadership for the development, review, validation, and lifecycle management of oncology treatment plans used within Epic Beacon for adult and pediatric cancer care. This role is accountable for translating evidence‑based oncology practice, provincial funding decisions, and clinical trial requirements into standardized, safe, and usable electronic treatment plans that guide prescribing, nursing, and pharmacy care. Clinical Content Pharmacists collaborate closely with oncologists, nursing, Beacon analysts, PRAXIS Clinical Informatics & System Enabled Practice, and provincial committees to ensure treatment plans accurately reflect approved protocols, support clinical workflows, and meet provincial governance and safety expectations. The position functions in a highly specialized, consultative capacity with direct influence on patient care delivery, system standardization, and oncology medication safety across Alberta.
Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.

Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years experience in a hospital (or similar institution) pharmacy providing compounding and repackaging services, including the provision of chemotherapy medications. Minimum 6 months experience supporting the development and maintenance of adult and pediatric treatment plans used within Beacon/Cancer Care. Demonstrated clinical expertise in oncology pharmacotherapy. Strong knowledge of chemotherapy protocols, supportive care therapies, treatment sequencing, and oncology medication safety principles. Strong computer skills including training and/or experience with: Epic Beacon, Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook and SharePoint). Adaptability and ambiguity tolerance. Ability to navigate evolving environments and changing information. Problem solving skills. Capable of making sound decisions using available data and clinical judgment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate clinical evidence and translate evidence-based practice into standardized clinical content and workflows. Familiarity with medication order set design, clinical decision support, and electronic prescribing workflows
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting provincial, multi-site, or large-scale clinical standardization initiatives. Experience working within clinical informatics, health information systems, or digital health environments. Experience participating in multidisciplinary committees, working groups, or governance structures. Experience providing mentorship, consultation, or subject matter expertise to healthcare professionals.
