Role overview

Position Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, the Category Lead oversees the Fasteners Department. Working on the sales floor they provide assistance to customers and work with the Category Manager on product lines. The shifts are Monday - Friday and the salary range is $50,000 - $55,000 annually, plus commission structure.
Key Responsibilities

Specific Ownership and accountability for the Fastener Department
Working on the sales floor (in aisle) to provide Superior Customer Service
Assist customers with purchases; provide suggestions and recommendations on products. Track orders and follow up
Build strong customer relationships through reliable call backs; follow up on Sales Orders and awareness of project timelines to foresee material needs
Project quotes, pick orders, enter delivery orders and place special orders
Work with Category Manager on assortment to drive sales
Build strong relationships and communication between the sales team, vendors and purchasing
General housekeeping duties and general stocking of merchandise as required
Ensure inventory is properly accounted for and controlled
Oversee and assign work to replenishment members – Fasteners Department
Assist in keeping product signage/pricing accurate
All other duties as directed by management

Skills and Qualifications

Broad knowledge of Building Supplies / Fasteners / Power Tools / Hand Tools
Demonstrated Superior Customer Service Skills
Minimum 2 years sales experience
Effective written and oral communication
Strong computer skills
Detail oriented with disciplined work habits
Ability to work independently or as a team
Able to multitask and prioritize
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
A positive can-do attitude is essential
Attend and participate in product knowledge training, either on-line or in person
Attend and participate in PRO Show Events, Job Site Events, etc.
Forklift / Scissor Lift experience is an asset

Physical Requirements

Standing for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
