Position: Accounts Receivable Clerk

Department: Finance and Administration

Employment Status: Full-Time

Salary: $22- $30.25/HR – 35 Hours per Week

POSITION SCOPE:

The Accounts Receivable Clerk position is mainly responsible for accounts receivable functions, with flexibility to assist in other accounting and financial administration processes in consultation with the Finance Manager. This position exists to support sound financial management by ensuring the timely and accurate invoicing, collection, receipting, recording, and reconciliation of revenue and related transactions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accounting College Diploma or Business Administration Diploma; or
  • Five or more years of work experience in a First Nation Finance Office or in a similar accounting and bookkeeping office setting;
  • Experience working with computerized accounting systems;

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, issue, and distribute invoices, statements, and other accounts receivable documents in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Receive, verify, and process payments including cash, cheque, electronic transfers, and other forms of payment in accordance with organizational procedures;
  • Record and reconcile accounts receivable transactions in the ledger or computerized accounting system;
  • Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on overdue balances with community members, tenants, service users, funding agencies, and other account holders as appropriate;
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial processes related to receivables and revenue reporting;
