Job Description:The Clinical Coordinator, under the direction of the Manager, is primarily responsible for the system navigation and coordination of patient flow on the nursing unit. This is achieved by the coordinator having an ongoing awareness and involvement in workflow of the nursing unit. In addition, the coordinator is the primary contact involved in disposition planning for complex and long term stay patients. Duties include bed management, discharge planning, patient and family advocate, identifying supply and equipment needs, coordinating/facilitating multi-disciplinary team meetings and assisting with staff scheduling.

Experience
- 5 years recent Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience, 3 of which must involve charge nurse or coordinator experience
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Additional Text:
- Knowledge of CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) & Pheresis required. Knowledge of Provincial repatriation process required. Current PALS certification required. Proven ability to communicate effectively and build collaborative working relationships with multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment required. The SHA requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons.
