Duties and responsibilities:
Install, repair, and maintain commercial fire sprinkler piping systems and accessories.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans, and specifications to determine the design/layout of the fire sprinkler system
Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and wall and floor fittings using measuring tools, such as levels and plumb bobs.
Cut and core holes in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
Measure, cut, thread and connect pipes using hand and power tools or machines, such as pipe cutters, and threading machines.
Troubleshoot fire sprinkler system problems and identify appropriate solutions.
Maintain a clean and safe job site.
Support the growth and development of company culture.
Performs other duties as required.
Requirements:
Completion of Level 1 Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship Program
Basic understanding of fire sprinkler system components and installation methods
Able to read construction drawings
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 8 hours a day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kg
