Position Summary:Reporting to the Inventory Control Supervisor, the Inventory Specialist is responsible for improving inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, storage utilization, and overall supply chain efficiency. This role analyzes inventory trends, warehouse processes, labor productivity, and operational performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction, service improvement, and continuous process optimization.The specialist will work cross-functionally with Operations, Logistics, Purchasing, IT, Dealer Support, and Finance teams to implement best practices that improve inventory flow, inventory visibility, warehouse capacity utilization, and customer service levels. Key Accountabilities:Inventory Control & Financial Impact Analysis:
- Analyze inventory accuracy, adjustments, shrink, and damage trends.
- Quantify financial impact of inventory discrepancies and packaging-related losses.
- Support cycle count governance through variance trend analysis and compliance reporting.
- Research inventory discrepancies and resolve variances.
- Monitor daily cycle count related to OS&D.
- Act as a liaison between ODC & ADC to address notifications, monitor inventory counts and ensure variances are addressed in a timely manner.
- Investigate daily backorders and work in unison with PDC management.
- Responsible for management reports and analysis.
- Maintain inventory accuracy metrics and reports for management.
- Coordinate and integrate efforts across departments to enhance inventory accuracy.
- Coach employees and reinforce standards on achieving inventory efficiencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Warehouse Optimization:
- Develop storage optimization strategies to maximize cube utilization.
- Monitor warehouse capacity and forecast future storage requirements.
- Recommend racking, material handling, and storage improvements.
Data, Reporting & Business Intelligence:
- Develop executive-level dashboards and KPI scorecards covering service, cost, inventory, and OS&D performance.
- Ensure data alignment across all MOBIS systems.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis and executive summaries to support leadership decisions related to inventory control.
Required Competencies:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a PDC environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business computing.
- Experience with VBA, Power BI, SQL scripting and other automation tools for data handling and visualization.
- Understanding of APIs, data structures, and integration between applications.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be team oriented and customer service focused.
- Solid organization and time management skill.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple concurrent tasks/projects.
- Effective communication skills to explain technical ideas to non-technical users.
