Employee type: Full time, Permanent

Location: Remote or onsite at one of our designated Forsite offices

Compensation: $85,000 to $115,000 annually

COME GROW WITH US!

Forsite is actively looking for an Inventory Implementation & Client Engagement Specialist to join our Digital Inventory team and support the delivery and long-term adoption of remote sensing inventory products. This is a client-facing technical role focused on software training, field-to-office knowledge transfer, and ongoing specialist support throughout the client’s inventory lifecycle. The successful candidate will become a subject matter expert in a variety of remote sensing methodologies (individual tree, area-based, and satellite- based approaches) and provincial polygon-based inventory standards. This fundamental knowledge combined with an understanding of client needs will serve as a trusted resource for clients well beyond initial delivery.

WHO WE ARE

Forsite brings together aerial LiDAR, pipeline patrol, wildfire science, and professional forestry under one roof, giving operators across North America a single, credentialed partner for the complete intelligence picture their decisions depend on. With over 85 years of expertise and more than 100 million hectares of forest analyzed across North America, Forsite combines proven field experience with advanced technology and machine learning to turn insight into actionable data where it matters most.

We take pride in our team culture, where supporting one another is second nature. We are a dynamic, people-focused business that thrives by delivering value to our customers, creating opportunities for our employees, and drawing on our expertise for sustainable solutions that balance economic, environmental, and social goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the Project Management & Solutions Design Specialist, you will support the successful completion and delivery of remote-sensing forest inventory projects and serving as a trusted resource for clients from project delivery through to ongoing use. Your work will include:

  • Support remotely-sensed forest inventory projects to completion and delivery as a technical resource.
  • Gather relevant information from the client and translate into technical project directives
  • Gather and prepare relevant existing project specific GIS reference data
  • Provide quality control/assurance on remote sensing deliverable at key steps in the process
  • Synthesize individual tree and/or cell-based products into stand-based inventories whether regulated or client specific
  • Develop and maintain training materials, user guides, and onboarding resources
  • Participate in scoping conversations to help clients understand deliverables and set expectations on use and limitations
  • Support quality review of remote sensing inventory deliverables before client handoff
  • Feed client observations back to the technical team to improve products and workflows
  • Collaborate with internal photo interpretation, remote sensing, and project management specialists
  • Act as a final quality checkpoint before client delivery, collaborating with internal team members to catch errors, uphold accuracy standards, and foster a culture of getting it right before it goes out the door
  • Contribute to project/product documentation and best-practice resources
  • Deliver software training to client teams (Forsite proprietary software planning tools)
  • Provide post-delivery client support, troubleshooting, and guidance

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Forsite welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and is looking for the right person to join our team. If you do not meet every requirement but bring relevant skills, experience, and a great attitude, we encourage you to apply.

Must have:

  • Experience with a provincial forest tenure and regulatory context; multi-jurisdictional familiarity is an asset.
  • Degree or diploma in forestry, natural resource management, or a related field
  • Strong GIS skills and comfort with spatial data environments
  • Good knowledge of remote sensing forest inventory approaches and products
  • Solid understanding of forest inventory and harvest/silvicultural methods, with a background that bridges field and office work
  • Experience reading and interpreting forest inventory data, reports, or prescriptions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Comfort working independently in client-site or remote settings with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to pursue deep specialization in ITI and hex-based inventory methodology
  • Willingness to do some travel

Strong Preference:

  • Experience with GIS and forest inventory software
  • A strong problem solver as each project brings unique challenges
  • Consulting or client-facing experience
  • Experience delivering, training, or coaching in a technical environment

WHO YOU ARE

  • A client-first communicator who builds trust with technical and non-technical audiences alike
  • A team player who enjoys working collaboratively and contributes to a positive team environment; reliable and accountable
  • A problem solver who thinks critically and proactively finds solutions
  • Quality-driven, paying attention to detail and taking pride in delivering high-quality work
  • Adaptable and resilient, comfortable managing multiple client relationships and shifting priorities
  • Comfortable working independently in the field or at a client site with minimal supervision
  • Patient and skilled as a teacher or coach, not just a technical expert
