Job description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses and performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with the dealership, factory and warranty policies and procedures.
- Discusses any problems related to the repair with other Apprentices or Technicians.
- Communicates with the Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examines the assigned motor vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Informs the Service Advisor of any additional repairs needed or advised.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests motorcycles after repairs are completed, to ensure that the repairs have been properly done and that the repair answers the concerns as stated in the work order.
- Understands and keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins and vehicle regulations.
- Ensures that customer motorcycles are kept clean. Notifies Service Advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the motorcycle.
- Shuttles motorcycles in and out of service area.
- Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
- Maintains company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment.
- Sets-up and organizes individual work area with designated supplies, forms and resource materials while maintaining cleanliness at all times.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical repairs and procedures.
- Have 310G or Working towards Motorcycle mechanic trade certification (310G).
- Valid Ontario Motorcycle License (M2 or higher) and clean drivers abstract.
- Ability to work cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to communicate (verbal and written) in English fluently.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and quality oriented.
