Closing Date:Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 4:30 PM PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Reporting to the Supervisors, Facilities Operations, the Facilities Attendants are responsible for supporting the operation and cleanliness of the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre, and other facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will:
- Provide timely, accurate information to the Supervisors, Facilities Operations and respond to the decisions and directions generated by same.
- Make sound and safe decisions as it relates to the upkeep of the facilities, personal behaviour, and health and safety.
- Complete tasks using proper procedures and escalate to Supervisors where required.
- Promote good public relations giving the City of Belleville a positive public image.
- Assist in maintaining the facility through ice maintenance and custodial cleaning as prescribed by the Supervisors, Facilities Operations such as;
- Cleaning bathrooms
- Mopping, dusting sweeping
- Garbage collection and removal
- Clearing clutter, snow, and ice ensuring entrances are clear
- Moving nets; shoveling snow from ice surface
- Glass cleaning
- Etc.
- Complete setups in meeting rooms, common areas, arenas, gym space, and other duties as required, involving staging, chairs, tables, and audio-visual equipment.
- Assist the user groups utilizing the building facilities without hindrance to general duties.
- Communicate professionally, and effectively with staff, tenants, contractors, and members of the general public, promoting a high standard of customer service.
- Perform all tasks and responsibilities through the lens of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, ensuring commitment to fairness, representation, accessibility and respect for diverse perspectives and cultures in all aspects of work.
- Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/TRAINING/SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
- At minimum high school diploma in progress
- Candidates must have their own safety boots
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (“CRC”) and Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to commencing work at the City of Belleville.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Entry level position
- Experience within a rink setting and work related to ice maintenance
- Pool and custodial experience.
- Experience with a floor machine, swing buffer,
- Demonstrated interpersonal and team skills; ability to communicate professionally and effectively
- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
