Highmark Homes is searching for a full-time Senior Accountant to work in office 5 days per week out of their location in Vaughan. Requirements 5-10 years of proven experience as a Senior Accountant in full-cycle accounting, A/P, A/R, and financial reporting, with a focus on the construction/property development industry University degree in a related field (Accounting, Finance, Business Administration) or College Diploma with relevant experience. Experience managing development projects from start to finish Experience with high-rise development is an asset Advanced software proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Sage Business Vision, or relevant accounting software Ability to multitask and adapt Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong work ethic and a team player Proven ability to maintain confidential information Key Responsibilities Accounting and Financial Operations Manage and oversee the full accounting cycle for multiple development projects Input data into Sage Business Vision for multiple sets of books Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including invoice verification, coding, posting, producing cheque runs, obtaining WSIB and insurance clearance certificates, and issuing billings Prepare reports required by external accountants for T5018 reporting Manage accounting for multiple entities, including reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and journal entries Prepare credit card reconciliations Prepare bank reconciliations as required Manage vendor payments, expense reports, and purchase orders Support year-end financial reporting processes, including preparing year-end working paper files for external accountants, providing additional information as requested during year-end review, and posting year-end journal entries provided by accountants Prepare monthly financing draw requests and monthly status reports for lenders; coordinate and respond to project monitor inquiries Oversee and manage accounting for two rental properties, including preparing year-end rent reconciliations for tenants and managing rental payments received Prepare and file GST/HST returns online Prepare Excel files with project data worksheets for new projects and finalize Purchaser Workbook templates for new projects Perform other related duties as assigned Financial Reporting and Support Produce routine financial reports as required for management review Liaise with external accountants Administrative Support Maintain organized financial records, files, and documentation * Support internal teams with financial inquiries and administrative requests In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Staalduinen will provide accommodations to applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment, selection and/or assessment process.
