Role overview

Arax Mechanical is a HVAC contracting company that has been operating for over 30 years. We specialize in HVAC Projects in the Residential, Commercial and Institutional Sector. We are a family owned and operated business looking for a well organized individual to fulfill a project coordinator position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Organizing documentation and putting together project files
  • Creating and sending out purchase orders
  • Tracking and submitting shop drawings
  • Keeping track of change orders, RFI’s, etc..
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction contract documents
  • Communicating with workers, subcontractors and generals
  • On site visits to monitor job progress
  • Attend all required site meetings, communicate with all applicable parties (engineers, clients, internal team) to ensure the project is on track
  • Solve all deficiencies within set time requirements
  • Be able to handle critical issues during installation phase of the project with your customer and on site workforce
  • Responsible for all on site logistics and labour coordination including management of subcontractors
  • Responsible for material and equipment procurement including price negotiation with vendors and meeting scheduled delivery dates as per construction schedule
  • Perform light maintenance and hands-on field tasks, including troubleshooting equipment deficiencies and replacing minor mechanical components
  • When on construction site may be subject to noise and extreme weather

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 year experience working as a project coordinator in construction
  • PMP designation is an asset
  • Postsecondary education is an asset
  • Knowledge in the Mechanical/HVAC industry is beneficial
  • Analytical thinking and problem resolution skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Efficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team base environment or independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid G Drivers license required
