Position Summary

The Sales Specialist, Venue & Events is responsible for growing earned revenue by
identifying, developing, and securing revenue-generating opportunities that
align with the organization's mission.

This role
focuses on driving venue rentals, hospitality experiences, corporate bookings,
ticketed events, partnerships, and recreational programming through proactive
sales, relationship management, and business development activities.

Working
collaboratively across fundraising, marketing, operations, and programs, the
Sales Specialist, Venue & Events builds strategic relationships, develops
new business opportunities, converts inquiries into confirmed bookings, and
contributes to the achievement of organizational revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Development & Business Growth

  • In partnership with the

Events Manager, develop and implement strategies to grow earned revenue
across social enterprise activities.

  • Identify new markets,

customer segments, and revenue opportunities.

  • Build a pipeline of

corporate, community, tourism, and private partners.

  • Manage the sales process

from initial inquiry through contract execution and booking confirmation.

  • Prepare sales proposals,

pricing packages, and customized experiences.

  • Meet annual sales and

revenue targets.

  • Monitor market trends and

competitor offerings.

  • Ensure all bookings and

sales activities align with organizational policies, risk management
practices, and brand standards.

Client & Partnership Management

  • Build strong relationships

with corporate clients, community organizations, tourism partners, and
event planners.

  • Act as the primary contact

throughout the sales cycle, from inquiry through booking confirmation.

  • Ensure exceptional customer

service and client satisfaction.

  • Negotiate contracts and

service agreements.

Administration & Performance Tracking

  • Maintain accurate sales

records and reporting.

  • Monitor revenue, occupancy,

utilization, and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide sales forecasts,

pipeline insights, and revenue projections to support organizational
planning and budgeting.

Marketing & Promotion

  • Collaborate with Marketing

to promote social enterprise offerings.

  • Collaborate with Marketing

and Fund Development to support ticket sales and attendance for events.

  • Provide content ideas,

photography opportunities, testimonials, and success stories.

  • Support digital campaigns

and promotional initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in

Business, Sales, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years

of experience in sales, business development, hospitality, tourism, venue
rentals, event sales, or corporate partnerships, with demonstrated success
achieving revenue targets.

  • Experience developing and

maintaining client relationships while managing multiple sales
opportunities simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to achieve or

exceed sales and revenue targets.

  • Ability to analyze sales

data, identify trends, and make recommendations to improve revenue
performance.

  • CRM experience is considered

an asset.

  • Experience in the nonprofit

sector, social enterprise, hospitality, tourism, or recreation industries
is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, in-person role based at our Calgary Head Office, with regular

presence at Camp Horizon to support the role's objectives and Easter Seals
Alberta's initiatives.

  • Ability to work occasional

evenings and weekends to support events, client meetings, trade shows, and
networking opportunities.

  • Valid Alberta Class 5

Driver's Licence with access to reliable transportation.

  • Satisfactory Criminal Record

Check and Vulnerable Sector Check, as required.

  • Standard First Aid/CPR

certification is considered an asset.
