Team & Culture
We are seeking a Carpenter in the Mission BC area to join our heavy civil construction team on a local project. Our projects are fast-paced, physically demanding, and require individuals capable of performing 10-12 hour shifts with consistency and professionalism. The ideal candidate takes direction effectively while demonstrating the ability to work independently. Civil construction carpentry experience is considered a strong asset.
Reliable personal transportation to the muster point at Stave Falls is a mandatory requirement. This position is for local candidates only as camp accommodation or LOA will not be offered.
Responsibilities
- Complete all assigned carpentry duties as instructed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on tasks as project needs evolve
- Construct, erect, and dismantle formwork, falsework, and shoring systems for concrete structures
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate layout and execution of carpentry work
- Install and strip concrete forms, ensuring proper alignment, bracing, and structural integrity prior to pours
- Fabricate and install wood structures, framing, platforms, walkways, and temporary structures in accordance with project requirements
- Perform layout and measurement tasks using hand and power tools, ensuring work is completed to required tolerances and specifications
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and fellow crew members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Collaborate as a productive team member while maintaining the ability to work independently when required
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Previous heavy civil construction carpentry experience is considered a strong asset
- Journeyman Carpenter certification or Red Seal endorsement is considered an asset
- Must be physically fit and capable of performing 10-12 hour shifts, with varied shift schedules including 5/2, 6/1, and 14/7 rotations
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team while maintaining the capacity to work independently when required
- Demonstrated willingness to complete and perform tasks as instructed on an as-needed basis
- Fall Protection certification is considered an asset
- Confined Space certification is considered a strong asset
- Valid WorkSafeBC First Aid certificate is considered an asset
- Candidates must supply their own personal PPE including a hard hat, safety boots, and high-visibility vest; all additional PPE will be provided.
- Reliable personal transportation to the Stave Falls muster point is required for daily commuting purposes.
- Candidates must be local to the area, as camp accommodation and LOA are not provided for this position.
