Job Description
Reporting to the Clinical Lead, Student Counselling the Student Support Coordinator will coordinate and champion a multi-faceted strategy to promote student success and retention, reduce risk, and enhance overall community well-being and safety through non-clinical case management by identifying needs, removing barriers, leveraging resources, and fostering student self-efficacy.
The Student Support Coordinator’s primary purpose is to ensure students receive the appropriate support to navigate challenges through comprehensive case triaging, educational outreach, and collaboration with internal and external resources.
Key Responsibilities:

Reviews and triages student well-being concerns, assessing urgency and determining appropriate next steps.

Conducts initial risk assessments and gathers additional information to inform response and support plans.

Coordinates with internal and external partners to resolve cases and connect students to appropriate services.

Provides non-clinical, strengths-based case management for students facing emotional, academic, or psychological challenges.

Manages and supports the Early Alert system to identify at-risk students, including training faculty and tracking interventions.

Delivers presentations and educational resources to help staff and students recognize concerns and navigate referral processes.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with campus departments and community organizations to support student needs.

Develops and maintains resources related to student conduct, well-being processes, and support pathways.

Monitors and analyzes data trends related to student concerns, sharing insights for continuous improvement.

Handles administrative duties including meeting coordination, responding to inquiries, record keeping, and data tracking.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary diploma required

Undergraduate or Masters degree in a related field like Education, Psychology, Health, or Social Work preferred

Considerable related experience (3-5 years) is required

Equivalencies may be considered

Experience working in higher education preferred
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
Remuneration:
Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
The compensation range for this job posting is: $65,773.24 - $88,144.94
