Our client is looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to lead their mitigation and contents operations, oversee field production, and strengthen fleet, equipment, asset-management, and health-and-safety programs. This role will lead the operational delivery of water mitigation, structural drying, fire and smoke cleaning, mold-related work, demolition, contents pack-outs, contents cleaning, storage, and emergency-response services.
This position will directly support and lead the Production Manager, field technicians, contents personnel, warehouse staff, and applicable subcontractors. This role does not oversee reconstruction operations.
The Right Fit
We're looking for an organized, hands-on leader who understands the urgency of emergency restoration and is comfortable balancing people, production, safety, equipment, and costs. The ideal candidate has experience leading field teams, managing operational resources, and building a strong culture of accountability and safety.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead day-to-day mitigation and contents operations, ensuring crews are properly scheduled, equipped, trained, and ready to respond.
- Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and accountability to the Production Manager and field teams.
- Coordinate labour, vehicles, equipment, materials, warehouse capacity, and subcontractors across active jobs.
- Monitor jobs for productivity, documentation, quality, customer communication, cost control, and timely completion.
- Maintain emergency-response readiness, including after-hours coverage, staffing, vehicle readiness, and equipment availability.
- Oversee company vehicles, restoration equipment, tools, PPE, inventory, and consumables to ensure proper maintenance, utilization, and accountability.
- Maintain organized warehouse and equipment-staging areas and implement effective asset and inventory-control processes.
- Monitor fleet, equipment, labour, material, and consumable costs to reduce waste and protect profitability.
- Lead and continuously improve the company's health-and-safety program across field, warehouse, fleet, and jobsite operations.
- Maintain a COR-aligned safety system, including orientations, toolbox talks, inspections, hazard assessments, training, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Build strong relationships with customers, insurers, adjusters, property managers, vendors, subcontractors, and referral partners.
What We're Looking For
- Previous leadership experience in restoration, mitigation, contents restoration, construction, environmental services, disaster recovery, or a comparable field-service environment.
- Proven experience leading, scheduling, coaching, and holding field staff accountable.
- Strong health-and-safety experience, including Alberta OHS requirements, inspections, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Experience managing fleet, equipment, tools, warehouse operations, inventory, and consumable costs.
- Strong organizational, communication, coaching, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certification.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to participate in after-hours escalation and emergency-response coverage as required.
Strongly Preferred
- NCSO designation or comparable safety credential.
- Experience supporting a COR-aligned health-and-safety program.
- IICRC certifications such as WRT, ASD, AMRT, FSRT, or related credentials.
- Experience with respiratory protection, asbestos/mould/silica controls, or hazardous-material procedures.
- Familiarity with Xactimate, XactAnalysis, restoration-management software, job costing, and field documentation.
Why Join?
- Meaningful leadership role with direct influence over mitigation and contents operations.
- Opportunity to strengthen safety, operational processes, team performance, and profitability.
- $80,000 – $100,000 salary, based on experience and qualifications.
- Health and benefits package.
- Company vehicle or vehicle allowance, phone, and required work tools depending on the final compensation structure.
- Ongoing restoration, leadership, and health-and-safety training.
- Collaborative, action-oriented environment where initiative, professionalism, accountability, and results are valued.
