BlueBlood Steakhouse at Casa Loma is actively looking for reliable, efficient and highly motivated individuals to hire as Junior Cooks to join our growing team. We are looking for industry professionals – people willing to learn, train and work hard every day.
Responsibilities:
Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment according to restaurants standardized recipes
Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
Prepares item for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
Checks supplies and prep lists and ensures all items are prepped in a timely fashion. Inventories menu items, stocks and preps area with needed supplies.
Looking for a cook that is capable of shucking oysters
Maintain the salad station and potentially working the fryer station.
Support the team with additional duties as directed by management.
Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in a high volume, fast paced restaurant
Demonstrates the ability to follow directions and meet deadlines
Cold side experience is an asset, and hot line experience is a bonus.
Ability to safely use food service equipment such as grills, fryers, stoves, knives
Possess a food handler's certificate
Must be legally able to work in Canada
