Java Technical Lead

Job Title: Java Technical Lead Location: Remote Mexico / Canada
Experience: 10+ Years Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead with strong hands-on development expertise and proven team leadership experience. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Google Cloud Platform, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native application development. This role requires strong retail commerce / eCommerce domain experience, including exposure to catalog, pricing, promotions, cart, checkout, order management, loyalty, rewards, payments, CRM, Martech, and SaaS platform integrations. Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end application delivery from requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership for Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices-based applications.
• Lead and mentor development teams while ensuring adherence to coding standards, design principles, and engineering best practices.
• Design scalable, secure, resilient, and cloud-native applications.
• Drive architecture and design discussions for enterprise applications and integrations.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and guide developers on implementation best practices.
• Work closely with client stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical recommendations.
• Participate in solution discussions, technical feasibility assessments, estimation, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, code quality initiatives, DevOps practices, and process optimization.
• Support high-availability, mission-critical applications in production environments.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in software development.
• 4+ years of proven experience leading development teams.
• Strong hands-on coding experience in Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and cloud-native application development.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL database design, optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployment.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and DevOps practices.
• Strong code review, debugging, problem-solving, and performance tuning skills.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with automated testing using Cucumber or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of application monitoring, logging, and performance analysis tools.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
• Ability to independently drive technical initiatives and resolve complex technical problems.

Mandatory Domain Experience

• Strong experience in Retail Commerce / eCommerce domain.
• Good understanding of retail business processes including Catalog, Pricing, Promotions, Cart, Checkout, and Order Management.
• Experience integrating applications with Loyalty, Rewards, CRM, Martech, Payment, and SaaS platforms.
