About the Opportunity
Our client is a growing, multi-site manufacturing organization expanding beyond 100 employees with ambitions to scale further across North America. As they move into the next phase of growth, they're building out their People & Culture function to create structure, accountability, and a foundation that supports rapid scaling across multiple locations.
This is a hands-on HR leadership role reporting directly to the President. You'll own all aspects of the people function — from recruiting and talent strategy to HR operations, systems management, and policy development. This is not a maintenance position; you're expected to build structure, take initiative, and drive real execution on people programs and process improvement.
You'll partner closely with site leadership to strengthen hiring quality and manager effectiveness, lead compensation and workforce planning initiatives, and support the business through growth, organizational changes, and potential plant relocations. Your work will directly shape how the organization scales and operates as it expands across locations and regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the organization's People & Culture strategy and programming to support engagement, accountability, and high performance
- Own all recruiting across the business — define roles, build processes, improve hiring quality, and partner with managers to strengthen their effectiveness in hiring and team building
- Fully manage and optimize the Rippling HRIS system — including configuration, data integrity, user support, and workflow automation
- Build structured, scalable HR processes and documentation (onboarding, employee records, policy management, workflows)
- Establish and maintain compensation structures, pay bands, and market alignment across locations
- Develop and deliver manager training and skills development programs to strengthen team leadership
- Partner with external advisors (legal, benefits, HR consultants) to ensure employment law compliance and best practices
- Manage employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and workplace issues
- Support business growth initiatives, organizational changes, and potential plant relocations — including communication strategy and retention planning
- Draft, review, and maintain company policies (on-call, attendance, remote work, overtime, etc.)
What You Bring
- 5–10 years of HR experience, ideally in manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environments
- Proven ability to build structure and implement processes from the ground up — not just maintain existing systems
- Strong background in recruitment, employee relations, and HR operations
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (Rippling experience is a strong asset)
- Solid understanding of compensation structures, job architecture, and workforce planning
- Experience partnering with external HR, legal, and benefits advisors
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and support leadership directly
- High initiative, ownership mindset, and comfort with execution-focused culture
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels — from frontline employees to senior leadership
Nice to Have
- Experience leading HR transformation or scaling HR function in growing organizations
- Multi-site or manufacturing industry background
- Familiarity with performance management system design or implementation
