Role overview

Job Summary:

The Network Analyst is responsible for administering, designing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure to ensure continuous, secure, and efficient operation. This role involves providing expert-level technical support, implementing strategic network plans, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support both on-premises and cloud environments. The position requires hands-on experience with Cisco and Fortinet equipment, cloud networking, and network security best practices, alongside the ability to work on-site in Regina, SK, with occasional travel and on-call duties.
Responsibilities:

  • Administer, implement, troubleshoot, and document the enterprise network ensuring continuous and efficient operation.
  • Develop strategic plans for network device evolution aligned with business needs and industry standards.
  • Provide expert-level technical support, administration, and engineering for all network devices.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly.
  • Manage network disaster recovery planning, implementation, maintenance, and testing.
  • Engage with corporate and field employees to address technology concerns and escalate complex issues.
  • Implement network equipment updates following company protocols to maintain security and functionality.
  • Maintain system integrity through change control, problem management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Stay current with networking technologies, certifications, and industry developments.
  • Organize and oversee work processes to contribute to departmental goals and foster teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures in all role activities.
  • Participate actively in team meetings to share insights and drive collective success.
  • Collaborate across teams to develop scalable and adaptable network solutions.
  • Represent the department with commitment to strategic goals and objectives.

Required Skills & Certifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years of recent practical network administration and design/architecture experience.
  • Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License or equivalent.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at the Head Office in Regina, SK.
  • Ability to travel outside Regina, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Ability to work on-call on a rotational basis in 1-week intervals.
  • Expertise with Cisco networking equipment and CLI interfaces (IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS).
  • Experience with Fortinet networking equipment and security tools (FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiNAC).
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking components (virtual networks, peering, route tables, Front Door, WAF, security groups).
  • Understanding of network security best practices and enterprise-level network integration.
  • Experience with ITIL frameworks and Change Management processes.
  • Relevant experience with SCADA networks.
  • Experience in North American provincial government, Crown corporation, or Oil & Gas Transmission sectors preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Expertise in Spine and Leaf data center networks utilizing VXLAN with BGP EVPN.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Skills in configuring and managing load balancers and web application firewalls.
  • Experience with LTE and satellite communication technologies.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary project teams.

Special Considerations:

  • Must be available for on-call work on a rotational weekly basis.
  • Must attend in-person interviews.
  • Full-time on-site presence required Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
  • Occasional travel outside Regina, SK, including overnight stays.

Scheduling:

  • Standard work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
  • On-call duties on a rotational basis in 1-week intervals.
