HR Manager

POSITION: HR Manager (standalone HR position)
LOCATION: North York, ON (hybrid - 3-4 days onsite)

MacDonald Search Group is a national permanent placement recruiting firm and we recruit on behalf of hiring companies.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a global equipment manufacturer and they are on the hunt for an experienced HR lead to assume a standalone HR position for the Canadian operations comprised of 1 site with 70 employees. This role serves as a strategic HR partner to the leadership team while acting as the HR subject matter expert managing the full HR function across the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, policies, health & safety, and compliance with Ontario employment legislation. This role will also provide back-up payroll support in ADP.

Please note: this will start as a 12 month contract with strong potential to become perm based on performance.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of progressive HR experience covering recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration in a standalone HR position in a small-to-mid-sized organization with CHRP/CHRL designation or working towards.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• CHRP/CHRL designation, or working towards, is ideal.
• 4+ years of progressive HR experience covering recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration, ideally in a small-to-mid-sized organization.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation in Ontario.
• Strong, applied knowledge of the ESA, including hours of work, overtime, vacation and public holiday pay, leaves, and termination and severance entitlements.
• Canadian payroll experience, particularly with ADP, would be considered an asset.
• Proven ability to develop HR policies, compliance frameworks, and operational processes and strong performance management plan development.

Compensation:

• Annual base salary (85-95K based on experience)
