The Granite Club is looking for a part time Recreation Program Instructor who will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, safe, and inclusive recreational sport programs for children of varying ages, abilities, and skill levels. This role fosters a positive and supportive learning environment where participants can develop fundamental movement and sport specific skills, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful recreational experiences. Instructors lead a variety of introductory sports programs, including basketball, soccer, hockey, and baseball, for children ages 2 to 8 years. They are responsible for ensuring participant safety, promoting active participation, and adapting activities to meet the diverse needs of participants. Through effective communication, professionalism, and teamwork, Multi-Sport Instructors contribute to the delivery of high-quality programs and the overall success of the Recreation Department.

Primary Responsibilities
Lead engaging, safe and inclusive multi-sport programs for participants of various ages and skill levels.
Provide clear demonstrations, explanations, and positive coaching techniques to support skill development and participant success.
Adapt activities, lesson plans, and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and program needs.
Foster a positive, encouraging environment that promotes confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and active participation.
Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, parents/guardians, and staff through effective communication and exceptional customer service.
Provide monthly program plans to the Recreation Coordinator.
Prepare program spaces by setting up, inspecting, and safely storing equipment and materials before and after each session.
Ensure a clean, neat, and sanitary environment.
Attend meetings and provide feedback on program effectiveness and suggest improvements or new ideas for future programming.
Assist in tracking attendance and reporting program updates to the Recreation Team.
Represent the club with professionalism, friendliness, and strong customer service.
Collaborate with Recreation Staff to ensure smooth operations and consistent participant experience.
Support special events, camps, and club-wide initiatives when required.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum grade 12
Over two years of teaching experience in Recreation Sport Programs
First Aid and C.P.R. certification required.
Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
Must be able to work variable shifts; evenings, weekends and holidays
Compensation
This role is commission‑eligible, with total compensation expected to range from $50 to $100 per hourly.
