Description
The Team
The Radio Communications team plays a vital role in keeping field staff safe by maintaining a province-wide network of radio systems for natural resource ministries, including BC Wildfire Service, BC Parks, and Conservation Officer Service. This established team is regionally based, with 10 radio shops and 20 technologists working collaboratively across BC to install, repair, and support thousands of radios and repeaters. We value diversity and inclusion, and we welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are committed to teamwork, problem-solving, and building strong relationships with clients to ensure reliable communication in remote areas.
The Role
As a Radio Communications Technologist, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing critical radio systems that keep field staff safe across BC’s rugged and remote landscapes. This includes servicing mountain-top repeater sites, installing and maintaining mobile and portable radios, and managing radio frequencies and site data. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who are passionate about technology, problem-solving, and working in diverse environments—your work will directly support emergency response and natural resource operations that protect communities and the environment.
