Project: Digital Service Delivery & Digital Transformation Initiatives
Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Primarily Remote within Canada; occasional onsite meetings in Alberta)
Positions: 17
Duration: 12 months with possible 24-month extension
Hours: 36.25 hours/week (7.25 hours/day)

Job Description
The Government of Alberta is seeking 17 Senior Front End Designers to support the Digital Design & Delivery Division (3D) on service innovation, digital transformation, and modernization projects across multiple ministries.
The successful candidates will collaborate with Agile, cross-functional teams to design user-centered digital services that improve the experience of Albertans. Responsibilities include creating UX artifacts, conducting design research, developing accessible interfaces, and delivering production-ready design specifications aligned with Government of Alberta standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design user-centered digital experiences for web and other digital channels.
- Create UX deliverables, including:
- User scenarios
- Storyboards
- User flows
- Wireframes
- Interactive prototypes
- High-fidelity mockups
- Produce build-ready design specifications and design documentation.
- Develop and maintain design systems, component libraries, and style guides.
- Conduct usability testing and analyze user feedback.
- Recommend design improvements based on research and evidence.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and demos.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, researchers, and business stakeholders.
- Support digital transformation and service modernization initiatives.
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
- Conflict of Interest Attestation.
- 2+ years experience as a Front End Designer designing digital services.
- 2+ years developing UX artifacts:
- User scenarios
- Storyboards
- Wireframes
- User flows
- Interactive prototypes
- 2+ years working within Agile cross-functional product teams.
- Portfolio of work (mandatory) submitted as an attachment with the resume (online portfolio links are not accepted).
