Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Midnight Production Supervisor at our Oshawa facility.

Job Summary & Reporting Structure:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for starting and stopping the injection machines and robotics, troubleshooting and minor machine maintenance, monitoring and adjusting processes, changing and setting up of Molds.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shift daily operations and personnel of the production line to ensure that all customer schedules are met within the established safety, quality and production targets.
Midnight Shift (11 pm to 7 am)
The Production Supervisor will resolve any concerns or problems of production personnel and at all times, ensuring the ongoing adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in the Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems and encouraging continuous improvement wherever possible.

Responsibilities:

Mold start-up/processing/troubleshooting

Start-up machine and robots to prepare for daily production.
In conjunction with the Production Manager, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance; participate in the analysis and problem-solving production, quality problems and technical problems.
Advise the Production Manager of all production or equipment problems.

Routine maintenance

Use hand and pneumatic tools to make small adjustments and repairs.
Assist with minor maintenance on shift as trained: Hoses, fittings, vacuum, thermolators

Mold changing and setting

Install and set up mold as per Tiercon work instructions

Supervision

Manage production personnel, resolving concerns, reviewing performance, and maintaining morale, discipline and employee training in accordance with the Company and ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949 procedures.
Use Ujigami to track tool changes, scrap reporting, downtime and provide reasons for any occurrences.
Shift reporting of any issues involving production, safety issues, or staffing levels.
Complete weekly LPA (layered process audits)
Work to achieve and exceed scrap, labor, and uptime targets.
Lead the daily safety, quality and delivery meetings for the shift.
Full facility supervision on nights (responsible for the entire building, we share a facility with our sister company, AGS)

Qualifications:

Education Required

Minimum High School Diploma

Post-Secondary Education in a related field preferred

Training Required

First Aid (asset)

Forklift (asset)

Crane (asset)

Core Competencies

Mechanically inclined

Machine and process troubleshooting

Effective communication skills, verbal, and written.

Basic Computer Skills

Demonstrated leadership experience or aptitude

Flexibility to cover other shifts

Experience Required

2 years minimum of Supervisory experience

2 years minimum of Injection Molding experience

5 years minimum of Mechanical experience

10 years minimum of Manufacturing experience

2 years minimum of Robot experience
