Job Description
Our Ontario Government client is seeking an experienced Data Modeler & Data/Information Architect to support the INSITE program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing enterprise data architecture in a complex, distributed environment while supporting enterprise information management initiatives and government modernization projects.
The consultant will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define enterprise information architecture, develop conceptual and logical data models, establish data standards, and support architecture governance activities. The role also includes contributing to enterprise architecture deliverables required for Architecture Review Board (ARB) submissions and Architecture Gate Point 1 (AGP1).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement enterprise data architecture for complex, distributed applications.
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Define enterprise information architecture requirements and obtain stakeholder approval.
- Develop standard business vocabularies, metadata, and enterprise data standards.
- Design data flows, database distribution, and data access strategies.
- Review and enforce enterprise data modelling and normalization standards.
- Support enterprise architecture governance and Architecture Review Board (ARB) processes.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to align data architecture with enterprise strategies.
- Produce architecture documentation, models, and governance artifacts.
- Provide technical guidance on enterprise information management best practices.
Project Deliverables
The consultant will build upon existing Conceptual and Logical Data Models and assist with:
- Continuing data prototyping to validate Conceptual Data Model (CDM) recommendations.
- Refining and enhancing the Logical Data Model (LDM).
- Supporting MECP in developing the Data Migration Strategy and Migration Plan.
- Assisting with Alpha prototypes and Proof of Concept (PoC) activities.
- Developing enterprise architecture artifacts for submission to the Architecture Review Board (ARB) for Architecture Gate Point 1 (AGP1) scheduled for Spring 2027.

Public Sector Experience (Preferred)

- Experience developing architecture deliverables for Architecture Review Board (ARB) approvals.
- Familiarity with Ontario Design System.
- Experience supporting enterprise modernization and digital transformation initiatives.

Work Arrangement

This role is ideal for a senior Data Modeler/Data Architect with extensive experience in enterprise information architecture, data modelling, and public sector digital transformation, capable of delivering enterprise-grade data architecture solutions in support of Ontario Government modernization initiatives.
