We are WSP.The Opportunity – Build the future with us.Our Prairies and North Earth & Environment team is growing, and we’re looking for a Water Quality Modeller to help advance our environmental impact and water resource solutions across the region.In this role, you’ll contribute to technically complex and meaningful projects within the mining and natural resources sector, working alongside a collaborative team of modellers and scientists. You will play a key role in strengthening our water quality modelling capabilities while supporting environmental stewardship and sustainable project delivery.Your Impact

  • Apply surface water quality models to assess environmental impacts associated with mining and natural resource projects
  • Support the development, calibration, and application of numerical water quality models
  • Contribute to conceptual model development and interpret environmental datasets to inform modelling approaches
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support environmental impact assessments and regulatory deliverables
  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets to inform modelling outcomes and recommendations
  • Prepare technical reports, visualizations, proposals, and client deliverables
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of modelling tools, methods, and workflows
  • Support knowledge sharing and innovation within the water quality modelling practice

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related discipline (M.Sc. preferred)
  • 1–3 years of experience in water quality assessment or modelling within consulting, industry, or academia
  • Experience applying surface water quality models (e.g., GoldSim, WASP, CE-QUAL-W2, HSPF) or strong aptitude to learn
  • Understanding of aquatic systems, contaminant transport, and environmental processes
  • Experience supporting environmental impact assessments or regulatory submissions is an asset
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using tools such as Excel, Python, R, or similar
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience contributing to reports and technical documentation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary project teams

Compensation:AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $60,100 - $79,600
MB & ON: $54,800 - $75,400
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $54,200 - $72,000Disclosure:
