Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of the Breast Health Centre (BHC) and Surgical Pathways, the Senior Physical Therapist is responsible for the planning, development, organization and delivery of therapy services within the framework of the multi-disciplinary team. The Senior Therapist provides training, coaching, mentoring and guidance to staff therapists and other team members. The BHC will provide a co-location of services specifically supporting individuals with suspected or confirmed breast cancer with interventional and diagnostic mammography and ultrasound, consultation with surgeons, patient education, rehabilitation, support, and navigation. The role includes the assessment and treatment of individuals with breast and non-breast cancer-related lymphedema, as well as those at risk of developing lymphedema following cancer treatment. Services may include prospective surveillance, early identification and intervention, complete decongestive therapy, compression therapy and garment recommendations, therapeutic exercise, symptom management, patient education and support for long-term self-management.

Experience

  • Three (3) years related experience

Education

  • Master of Physical Therapy (MPT)

Licenses

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)

Other Education and Training

  • Degree in Physical Therapy recognized by Cdn Physiotherapy Association
  • Current CPR Level C
