Role overview

DWK Enterprises Ltd. dba Oishii Express Japanese Restaurant is looking for a qualified Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, manage and evaluate the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
  • Supervise and coordinate restaurant staff, including cooks, servers, kitchen helpers and other team members.
  • Prepare staff schedules, assign duties and monitor employee performance.
  • Recruit, train and guide new employees in restaurant procedures, food safety, customer service and company standards.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, sanitation and workplace safety.
  • Respond to customer questions, concerns, complaints and special requests in a professional manner.
  • Monitor inventory and arrange orders for food ingredients, beverages, supplies and equipment.
  • Control food costs, labour costs and other operating expenses to support efficient business operations.
  • Keep records of sales, inventory, staff schedules, supplier orders and daily restaurant activities.
  • Ensure the restaurant complies with health, safety, sanitation and food handling regulations.
  • Assist with menu updates, pricing, promotions and strategies to increase sales.
  • Work closely with the owner and management team to improve customer satisfaction, staff productivity and overall restaurant performance.

Requirements

  • Education: High School
  • Experience: 2-5 years
  • Experience in Japanese restaurant operations is considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage restaurant operations in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Knowledge of food safety procedures, inventory control and restaurant cost management is an asset.
  • Must be reliable, organized and able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
