Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is actively seeking applicants for a Registered Practical Nurse position for the Combined Unit.

The primary location for this position is: Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll

Position Summary:

The Combined Care Unit is a patient care area that incorporates 17 medical beds and 5 complex continuing care beds. An interdisciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Physicians, Pharmacists, Registered Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and many volunteers care for patients here.

Qualifications Required:

Registered Practical Nurse, currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing.
Well-developed Patient Assessment, Intervention and Evaluation skills.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize patient care needs.
Demonstrated ability to function productively in a very demanding environment.
Demonstrated ability to perform duties independently/
Demonstrated ability to function productively as a team member in an interdisciplinary setting.
Demonstrated knowledge in the usage of various programs such as Cerner, Powerchart and Microsoft Office.
Skilled with the interaction of patients and families to provide patient focused, goal oriented care.
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to Privacy and Confidentiality.
Excellent attendance record and work ethics in previous positions.
Current certification required in:
BCLS
Aseptic technique
Sterile dressing changes
Pharmacology
Suture and staple removal
Urinary catheterization
V. management

Other pertinent conditions:

Salary per the UNIFOR collective agreement ($39.50 per hour to $40.25 per hour)
