THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for a 421A Heavy Equipment Technician to join a well-established construction and aggregates operation in Stevensville, ON.

This is a hands-on maintenance role responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and local roadside service on heavy equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently. This position is ideal for an experienced technician who enjoys working independently in a highly autonomous environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment
  • Diagnose and complete major mechanical repairs
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems
  • Repair and maintain loaders, track equipment, generators, and other heavy equipment
  • Respond to local roadside and field breakdowns as required
  • Utilize Caterpillar and John Deere diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment
  • Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of heavy equipment experience preferred
  • 421A Heavy Equipment Technician License preferred
  • Strong 421A apprentices will also be considered
  • Experience troubleshooting heavy equipment independently
  • Experience with Caterpillar equipment is a strong asset
  • Experience using Caterpillar and John Deere diagnostic software is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in an aggregate, quarry, mining, or construction environment is an asset
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Own tools required
