Project Description
APEX/ORDS Evergreening
The goal of the APEX/ORDS Evergreening initiative is to upgrade the full technical stack for five Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks business-critical applications.
The current application suite is built on:
- Oracle Database
- Oracle APEX
- Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS)
- Red Hat Linux
These technologies are at end-of-life support and require modernization to remain secure and compliant with Ontario's Digital and Data Strategy.
Cloud hosting is targeted as part of the modernization effort.
Responsibilities
An Oracle APEX and ORDS Developer is required to:
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Oracle APEX.
- Utilize Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) for backend integration and API development.
- Translate technical specifications into working, tested applications.
- Develop programming specifications.
- Write and maintain application code.
- Conduct unit testing.
- Troubleshoot software issues.
- Provide technical support for implementation, conversion, and migration activities.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
General Skills
- Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
- Experience with middleware and gateway technologies.
- Experience reviewing, analysing, modifying, encoding, testing, and debugging installation scripts.
- Ability to provide post-implementation support.
- Experience conducting design walkthrough sessions.
